Love Your Skin As Well!

Love Your Skin As Well!
The cold weather can do some pretty bad damage to our skin if we don't keep after it. When moisture levels in the air are lower (winter) this causes the skin to break down layers draining the skin of its natural oils. What's best is to moisturise skin .... and what better way to do it than with natural home remedies! My skin can be very picky ... it can be overly dry one day and balanced the next. I wouldn't say I have a combination per say ... I would just say I have DRY SKIN!  My thighs and legs is where the main part of the dryness occurs. I have learned that they produce EXCESS keratin! (a natural protein in the skin)  Sooo after doing research I came up with the ultimate "Moisture Retaining Concoction" Not only does this retain moisture but it also exfoliates skin to give you a natural GLOW!  Blah BLAH blah! Stop with the boring stuff ... get to the good part! ... SoOo you'll need:

2 tbsp of brown sugar
4 tbsp ground coffee (any will do)
2 tbsp coconut oil (grape seed or almond oil works well too)
2 tbsp of honey
1 cup of milk
a medium bowl

Mix all ingredients in your bowl (except milk) until everything is moist. Before your shower grab some of this lovely "MRC" and massage into your skin.  When I exfoliate with this "MRC" I usually exfoliate my skin vigorously. I do not have sensitive skin on my legs or thighs so i usually work up a rough up and down side to side motion to exfoliate. If you have sensitive skin a soft massage will do the trick as well. Everyone knows their own body better than someone else would. When you're done just rinse off with cool water and continue with your regular shower routine. The honey and coconut oil will moisturize the skin and help retain moisture while the sugar and coffee will exfoliate the dead skin cells that were lingering behind. HOWEVER I would not recommend using this on the face. I feel its too oily and invigorating for the face. Now on any day you can grab a cup of milk and a wash cloth and soak the cloth and rest it on your face (without dripping of course) for about 10-15 minutes .. Then rinse off thoroughly. I like doing this the day after I exfoliate my face. And remember not to exfoliate with the "MRC". I've never done it so I wouldn't recommend trying it.
Oh my! I have rambled on for too long ... I figured I give you guys a different side of "fashion" we all have and should embrace .. Beauty. Till next post!
