Afternoon Tea

Enjoying my Saturday afternoon with Tazo passion tea from Starbucks and a delicious croissant. I purchased the tea in a tin can which came with 15 full-leaf sachets. The tea is an herbal infusion of hibicus, cinnamon and tropical fruits.

I've also picked up one of my favorite books to read for this fall season. Mainly because I'm looking forward to the movie
and Jack Nicholson is one of my favorite actors. Enjoy your Saturday!

Pink Friday

It's not your usual Fall color nail lacquer but we can break the rules at time. Have a Pinky Friday!

Friday Night Dinner

A healthy dinner for a Friday night! I brought some fresh tilapia from the fish market today and thought I make it with a sautéed pico de gallo. I have onions, green peppers, cilantro and half a lemon.

I sprayed my pan with non stick cooking spray & sautéed the onions and peppers for about 2 minutes. Later I added the tilapia and seasoned it with salt and pepper. I cooked it for 7 to 8 minutes on one side and about 5 on the other. As it cooked I squeezed the lemon onto the pan. I wanted to make sure the tilapia  stayed moist :) Lastly I added the cilantro and left it cooking for another 3 minutes to extend the flavor.

While the tilapia was cooking I had some frozen mixed veggies steaming on the side. And what better way to pair this meal than with a glass of Chardonnay!
 Enjoy!

Fall Out Boy Concert Outfit

Even though the Fall Out Boy concert was in the beginning of September, I decided to go ahead and post what I wore that day.  I wasn't much of a blogger this summer, too busy having fun orrrr working. Sooo, I felt like putting together my concept of a rock concert outfit for a fashionista. I decided to wear booties instead of your typical converse look. The plaid shirt was a must, I feel it's a concert staple. I did however tie the paid shirt around my waist later on since it was getting hot in the arena. I went with my fabulous sister. We had an amazing time. Can't wait till FOB is back in town! This is what I wore:

pleather shorts: H&M
booties: H&M
bag: f21
plaid shirt: Thrifted
arm candy: f21, aldo, h&m
wallet: my sisters :-P

IT'S A short TUESDAY!

Need i say anything? I mean how BADASS are these shorts?! I know they've been around for a while but suppose i overwhelmed myself and decided to post them up. The best part is that they were made by creative Etsy users. Well my darlings .. Shop on! 1. NeonWonderland 2. & 3. HanMattan 4. Kaleidoscope Eyes 5. & 6. Death Disco Loves You

Plain White Top

Isn't it great how you can throw on a plain white top without worrying about it being boring?
These three lovely gals were able to pull off the white top look. With the right accessories and color combination you're sure to look chic. The best part is that you can mix and match a white top and get multiple looks. My favorite outfit would have to be the middle one. I like the paisley print on the shorts along with the soft fabric. The fact that she knotted the shirt and rolled up the sleeves is a plus in my book! I must say its all in the details.

Love Your Skin As Well!

Love Your Skin As Well!
The cold weather can do some pretty bad damage to our skin if we don't keep after it. When moisture levels in the air are lower (winter) this causes the skin to break down layers draining the skin of its natural oils. What's best is to moisturise skin .... and what better way to do it than with natural home remedies! My skin can be very picky ... it can be overly dry one day and balanced the next. I wouldn't say I have a combination per say ... I would just say I have DRY SKIN!  My thighs and legs is where the main part of the dryness occurs. I have learned that they produce EXCESS keratin! (a natural protein in the skin)  Sooo after doing research I came up with the ultimate "Moisture Retaining Concoction" Not only does this retain moisture but it also exfoliates skin to give you a natural GLOW!  Blah BLAH blah! Stop with the boring stuff ... get to the good part! ... SoOo you'll need:

2 tbsp of brown sugar
4 tbsp ground coffee (any will do)
2 tbsp coconut oil (grape seed or almond oil works well too)
2 tbsp of honey
1 cup of milk
a medium bowl

Mix all ingredients in your bowl (except milk) until everything is moist. Before your shower grab some of this lovely "MRC" and massage into your skin.  When I exfoliate with this "MRC" I usually exfoliate my skin vigorously. I do not have sensitive skin on my legs or thighs so i usually work up a rough up and down side to side motion to exfoliate. If you have sensitive skin a soft massage will do the trick as well. Everyone knows their own body better than someone else would. When you're done just rinse off with cool water and continue with your regular shower routine. The honey and coconut oil will moisturize the skin and help retain moisture while the sugar and coffee will exfoliate the dead skin cells that were lingering behind. HOWEVER I would not recommend using this on the face. I feel its too oily and invigorating for the face. Now on any day you can grab a cup of milk and a wash cloth and soak the cloth and rest it on your face (without dripping of course) for about 10-15 minutes .. Then rinse off thoroughly. I like doing this the day after I exfoliate my face. And remember not to exfoliate with the "MRC". I've never done it so I wouldn't recommend trying it.
Oh my! I have rambled on for too long ... I figured I give you guys a different side of "fashion" we all have and should embrace .. Beauty. Till next post!

Not Your Average Holiday Outfit

I decided to put this set together for those of you who don't believe in the Christmas sweaters and your average holiday dresses. I feel these outfits have the potential to become holiday outfits if styled with the right accessories and even the right hair style. Sure old aunt Lucy will comment on the boots and of course grandma will hate them but i bet they're glad you came by! With soft makeup on the eyes and bright lipstick you're likely to set your own holiday trend!
